ABSA Network is excited to officially open student officer applications for the 2022-2023 academic year. The ABSA Network team is seeking energetic and responsible students from the Muslim community to help us carry out ABSA Network’s goals of spirtual & professional development under the guidance of scholars, professors, and professionals. Through ABSA Network, we hope to facilitate a network of future leaders and Muslim ambassadors through supporting ABSA Network Chapters & Shia Youth Organizations from across the globe using resources. The 2022-2023 student officer team will work on increasing support to ABSA Chapters, assisting with ABSA Chapter event programming, managing social media engagement, and creating a professional network of Shia students across the globe. As an ABSA Network E-board officer, you have the opportunity to grow professionally, expand your network, sharpen your leadership ability, and serve your Muslim community. Officer role benefits include leadership experience, exposure to project management software, creating change in the high school and college campuses & communities around the globe, and learning to effectively work remotely.

Officer Eligibility:

  • Must be a high school, college, graduate school student, or alumni
  • Must have interest or experience with leadership
  • Must have a strong work ethic
  • Must be willing to work and collaborate within a team
  • Must submit all application materials (form, video, resume) before April 6th, 2022

The term of these officer roles begins on June 1st, 2021 and ends on June 1st, 2022.

 

President

  • Liaison between BOT + E-Board 
    • Retain strong communication channel through monthly BOT report
    • Approve committee programs/events in collaboration with BOT
    • Approve finances in collaboration with BOT
    • Collaborate with ABSA Spiritual Coordinator  
  • Create yearly ABSA annual report + yearly calendar 
  • Schedule/Run E-Board Meetings + Regional Committee Meetings
  • Attend weekly E-Board Meetings & ABSA Network meetings
  • Attend ABSA General Event & Regional Events 

 

VP of Marketing

  • Manages all ABSA related marketing platforms including
    • Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, WhatsApp 
  • Create and implement ABSA Monthly mailer through mailchimp 
  • Creates promotional content (flyers, videos, etc) for ABSA Network’s events
  • Runs social media campaigns to increase member engagement
  • Works with VP of Projects to post Safinat Ul Ilm content posts 
  • Attend weekly E-Board Meetings & ABSA Network meetings
  • Attend ABSA General Event & Regional Events 

 

VP of Projects

  • Liaison to ABSA Chapters 
    • Network & strengthen communication with ABSA Chapters
    • Manage & market ABSA Chapter Resources
    • Onboard new ABSA Chapters 
    • Assists chapters with event programming
  • Creates resources & event packages for ABSA Chapters 
  • Attend weekly E-Board Meetings & ABSA Network meetings
  • Attend ABSA General Event & Regional Events 

 

 VP of Technology

  • Manages all ABSA related technology including
    • Infinity  (Project Management Software)
    • Zoom Account, MS Teams Channel, GSuite, WhatsApp, & Remind
  • Creates all zoom links for ABSA meetings
  • Manages and updates ABSA Network’s website
    • Regular website additions/updates based on new ideas/programs
  • Attend weekly E-Board Meetings & ABSA Network meetings
  • Attend ABSA General Event & Regional Events 

 

VP of Finance

  • Creates budget proposal for fall and spring semester
  • Handles reimbursements, donations, etc with approval of President/BOT
  • Leads fundraising efforts and applies for grants/scholarships 
  • Manages donation platform and donation campaigns 
  • Reviews ABSA Chapters + Career Committee funding requests 
  • Attend weekly E-Board Meetings & ABSA Network meetings
  • Attend ABSA General Event & Regional Events 

 

Regional Committees:

  • Purpose: The ABSA Regional Committees seeks to strengthen support to ABSA’s local communities by providing them with guidance, event programming, networking packages & strive to create a professional network that provides ABSA students with skills to be successful in their respective careers. Each regional committee is responsible for assisting their local community of ABSA Chapters & Shia organizations on high school & college campuses including but not limited to the following: hosting collaborative events with local chapters, meeting regularly with chapter leaders, and sharing resources for event programming. The regional committee list for the 2022-2023 school year is below: 
  • West Coast Regional Committee

*1 Chair (College Student) + 1 Coordinator (High School Student) for each committee

  • Managing a team of 1-2 Regional Committee Coordinators (high school students)
    • Leading bi-weekly committee meetings with Coordinators
  • Strengthen ties with local ABSA Chapters & Shia orgs
    • Meeting regularly with chapter leaders
    • Hosting collaborative events with local chapters 
  • Sharing resources for event programming
    • Creating event packages & programming content
    • Creating Chapter resources documents, posts, flyers, & more
